Buckstyle SHOPS: Digitaria
It’s not often that a gem like this comes along. A designer label shop, an art gallery, a performance space and… a knitting club; all in one venue. Digitaria, a Greek fashion label started by designer Eleftheria Arapoglou and creative director Stavros Karelis, opened their first concept store in Athens last year and have now trying to crack London. Taking on a disused men’s tailors, the team have joined forces with performance artist and east-end legend Scottee, who will be curating the space of the next 18 months. Digitaria’s own collection is on-sale, while a host of artists in various fields combine to create a unique retail experience.
Current work includes mannequins designed by Lee Benjamin – renowned for his work with Leigh Bowery – wallpaper designed by illustrator James Unsworth, and a regular knitting circle every second Sunday of the month, hosted by Scottee himself. Future artists to get involved include Caron Geary and Elizabeth Eamer. Head down quick to see a space like no other as the installations will be changing frequently.
