Buckstyle’s Top 5: Sergio Rossi Spring/Summer 2010
How to be bold and classic at the same time? That’s no such problem for Sergio Rossi, whose shoes seem to get better and better the further they push their ideas. By not sticking to strict house codes and re-working classic shapes from scratch, they’ve produced a collection that has options for men who like to keep things classic and those who dare to take risks. That’s no mean feat, and Buckstyle has our pick of the bunch.

1. Hi-top sandals in green suede- Excellent shade of green, excellent mix of a sneaker/flip-flop base, gladiator detailing and the simplicity of a hi-top. They come in black leather, too, with standout yellow soles.
2. Foam sole brogues- Keep an eye out for thick, float-worthy foam soles for S/S 10. With chunky shoes so appealing now, foam makes things a bit lighter for summer and can give an unexpected sporty note. These moulded, bookish brogues are exemplary. How unexpected is that orange with the brown?
3. Elastic monkstrap shoes- Yes, these shoes are classically pretty. But what’s even better is the sole bends in the middle, making them as flexible as ballet slippers and giving movement to the foot. Plus two types of polish are used, to give that all-important highlighted toe.
4. Knotted leather sandals- Satisfyingly, people are taking to sandals better than anyone has expected, and already we’ve been bombarded with styles for next summer. Not looking like they’re going to end soon, these knotted, pale coffee versions have enough interest to look a bit futuristic, but you know they’d look lovely with a nice suit too.
5. Sergio Rossi for Puma purple satin sneakers- Sergio Rossi’s link-up with Puma is now in its second season for men. Clean and sharp, these sneakers are refreshingly simple in some eye-popping colours, but best in this excellent purple satin.
