Smart Deli, the little Japanese restaurant, speaks for itself. It’s such a mish-mash of old, new, plastic, cotton – there’s no hierarchy of materials or tastes, it’s all relevant. There’s a kitsch gold waving cat and flashing fairy-lights presiding over a meal served out of the most ancient, perfect and hand-made pottery. It’s bright, cheap, fun and the food is delicious. Perfect.
